Indications
Atacand Plus is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. Its combination of candesartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic, acts synergistically to reduce blood pressure. This medication can be used in patients who have not achieved adequate blood pressure control with a single antihypertensive agent. It is also considered for the prevention of cardiovascular events in individuals with risk factors, as well as in those with heart failure and type 2 diabetes with concomitant hypertension.
Composition
Each Atacand Plus tablet contains 16 mg of candesartan cilexetil and 12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide as active ingredients. Additionally, it includes excipients such as lactose monohydrate, corn starch, and magnesium stearate, which facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
Atacand Plus is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with anuria or a history of angioedema associated with previous treatments with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) or angiotensin II receptor blockers. Its use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney disease, liver disease, or electrolyte imbalance. In addition, it is important to monitor blood pressure, as well as kidney function and electrolytes in patients treated with this medication. Concomitant use with other diuretics without medical supervision is not recommended.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
