Indications

Atacand (candesartan) is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension in adults. Its action consists of blocking angiotensin II receptors, which results in a reduction in blood pressure. Additionally, it can be used in patients with chronic heart failure to improve cardiac function and reduce the risk of hospitalization. It is important that this medication be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

Composition

Each Atacand tablet contains 16 mg of candesartan cilexetil as the active ingredient. Excipients include: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, among others.

Contraindications

Atacand is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to candesartan or any of the excipients in the formula. Furthermore, it should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding women, or to patients with severe liver or kidney problems.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with renal artery stenosis, renal insufficiency, or those taking medications that affect the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. It is important to monitor renal function and blood potassium levels during treatment with Atacand.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
