Indications
Aspirin Protect 100 mg is indicated as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for the prevention of cardiovascular events in patients at high risk of myocardial infarction or cerebrovascular accident. Its use is relevant in reducing platelet aggregation and preventing thrombosis. This medication can also be used in the treatment of inflammatory and painful processes, including headache, muscle pain, dental pain, and menstrual pain. Additionally, it can be used for fever and conditions requiring relief from moderate pain. However, its use should be considered under the supervision of a medical professional, who will assess the patient's risk profile.
Composition
Each Aspirin Protect tablet contains 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid as the active ingredient. Excipients include: starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, and other components that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs. Furthermore, it should not be administered in cases of active peptic ulcers, gastrointestinal hemorrhages, coagulation disorders, or severe renal insufficiency. It is also contraindicated in patients with salicylate-induced asthma and in those who experience allergic reactions to this type of medication.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastric ulcers, bleeding disorders, hepatic or renal insufficiency, and in those who are being treated with anticoagulants. It is also recommended to evaluate its use in pregnant and lactating women, as well as in patients over 65 years of age, who may be at a higher risk of adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
