Indications
Aspirin 500 mg is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, such as headache, muscle pain, dental pain, and menstrual pain. It is also used for fever reduction and in the treatment of inflammatory processes. This medicine can be used in the prevention of cardiovascular events in patients at risk of thrombosis, as well as in the treatment of conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, under medical supervision. At certain doses, it may be indicated for the prevention of myocardial infarction and stroke in patients with risk factors.
Composition
Each tablet contains 500 mg of acetylsalicylic acid as an active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as starch, talc, and silica.
Contraindications
Aspirin should not be used in patients with a history of allergy to acetylsalicylic acid or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It is contraindicated in patients with active gastric ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe renal or hepatic insufficiency. Its use is not recommended in children and adolescents with viral infections due to the risk of Reye's syndrome.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with asthma, a history of peptic ulcers, coagulation disorders, or those taking other anticoagulants. The use of this medicine should be evaluated in individuals with heart failure or hypertension. It is important to consult a doctor before starting its use if other medications are being taken, to avoid interactions.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
