Indications

Asoflon (tamsulosin) is indicated for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition in which the prostate gland enlarges and causes urinary symptoms such as difficulty starting urination, weak urine stream, post-void dribbling, and frequent urination, especially at night. This medication works by blocking alpha-1 adrenergic receptors in the prostate and urethra, which facilitates urine flow and improves symptoms associated with urinary tract obstruction. It is important that treatment be supervised by a physician, who can evaluate the patient's condition and adjust the dose as needed.

Composition

Each Asoflon capsule contains 0.4 mg of tamsulosin in the form of hydrochloride.

Contraindications

Asoflon is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to tamsulosin or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of severe orthostatic hypotension and in those with severe hepatic insufficiency.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Asoflon to patients with a history of hepatic or renal insufficiency, as dosage adjustments may be required. Patients who are being treated with other antihypertensive medications should be closely monitored to prevent episodes of hypotension. Caution is also recommended in patients who perform activities requiring mental alertness, as the medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
