Indications

Arterina is indicated for the treatment of conditions requiring specific vasopressin management, such as central diabetes insipidus, hemorrhage due to esophageal varice rupture, and some types of hypovolemic shock. Additionally, it is used for fluid management in patients with severe hyponatremia and for the prevention of certain hemorrhagic disorders in patients with hematological diseases. Its use must be under strict medical supervision and in an appropriate clinical setting.

Composition

Each Arterina ampoule contains 20 Units/mL of vasopressin, in addition to excipients necessary for its formulation.

Contraindications

Arterina is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to vasopressin or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should also be avoided in patients with severe cardiovascular disease, renal insufficiency, or those with uncontrolled hyponatremia or fluid retention.

Precautions

Caution is advised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, as well as in those with hypertension or kidney disease. Administration should be carefully adjusted, considering the patient's clinical status and response to treatment. It is essential to monitor serum sodium levels and renal function during treatment.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
