Indications

Arimidex is indicated for the treatment of postmenopausal women with early-stage hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer, as well as for the palliative treatment of patients with hormone-receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer. Anastrozole acts as an aromatase inhibitor, reducing circulating estrogen levels, which can help decrease the growth of hormone-sensitive tumors.

Composition

Each tablet contains 1 mg of anastrozole as the active ingredient. Excipients include: lactose monohydrate, pregelatinized starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

Arimidex is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to anastrozole or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in premenopausal women, as well as in patients with a history of coronary artery disease or severe hepatic insufficiency.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with osteoporosis or bone disease, as anastrozole therapy may increase the risk of fractures. Additionally, it is recommended to monitor cholesterol levels in patients treated with Arimidex, as they may increase during treatment. Use in combination with other hormonal treatments should be evaluated by a specialist physician.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep in a dry place and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
