Indications

Aranesp (Darbepoetin Alfa) is indicated for the treatment of anemia in patients with chronic kidney failure who require renal replacement therapy (dialysis) or in those not on dialysis, as well as in cancer patients who have chemotherapy-induced anemia. This medication works by stimulating the production of red blood cells in the bone marrow, which helps increase hemoglobin levels and improve patients' quality of life.

Composition

Each Aranesp syringe contains Darbepoetin Alfa as the active ingredient. The formulation includes excipients that ensure the stability and efficacy of the medication. It is essential to consult the product label for detailed information on all components.

Contraindications

Aranesp is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Darbepoetin Alfa or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of uncontrolled hypertension and in patients with a history of thromboembolic events. Furthermore, it should be avoided in patients with untreated iron deficiency anemia.

Precautions

Regular monitoring of hemoglobin and hematocrit levels is recommended during Aranesp treatment. It is important to adjust the dose in patients with a history of cardiovascular events. Caution should be exercised in patients with conditions that predispose to thrombosis and in those with autoimmune diseases.

Storage

Aranesp should be stored under refrigeration at a temperature between 2 °C and 8 °C. It should not be frozen. Keep the medication in its original packaging and out of the reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
