Indications
Aldactone (spironolactone) is indicated for the treatment of various medical conditions that require management of fluid and electrolyte balance in the body. It is primarily used in the treatment of hypertension and congestive heart failure, where it helps reduce blood pressure and fluid accumulation. It is also indicated in the treatment of edema associated with liver or kidney diseases, as well as in Conn's syndrome, which is a form of primary hyperaldosteronism. Additionally, spironolactone may be used in the treatment of hirsutism in women and in the management of premenstrual syndrome in some cases. It is important that the use of this medication is carried out under the supervision of a healthcare professional, who will determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment, considering the individual characteristics of each patient.
Composition
Each Aldactone tablet contains 100 mg of spironolactone as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Aldactone is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to spironolactone or any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in patients with anuria, acute renal failure, or severe kidney disease, as well as in those with hyperkalemia. Its use is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of liver diseases, diabetes mellitus, or those taking other medications that may affect potassium levels. Regular monitoring of blood electrolyte levels is essential during treatment.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C, and keep out of reach of children.
