Indications
Human albumin is indicated for the treatment of patients with hypoproteinemia, especially in conditions of extensive burns, major surgeries, or liver diseases that cause a significant decrease in blood protein concentration. It is also used in the resuscitation of patients in hypovolemic shock and as a complement in plasma replacement therapies. Its administration is crucial in situations where it is necessary to increase oncotic pressure and improve blood volume.
Composition
Each vial of Human Albumin 20% contains 20 g of human albumin per 100 mL of solution. Additionally, excipients are included to guarantee the stability and safety of the product, ensuring its proper preservation and therapeutic efficacy.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to human albumin or to any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered in cases of congestive heart failure or in patients with active uncontrolled bleeding, as well as in situations where fluid restriction is required.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with kidney disease, as the use of albumin may alter renal function. In addition, it is important to monitor the patient's blood pressure and electrolyte balance during treatment. In case of adverse reactions, administration should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.
Storage
The product should be stored at a temperature between 2 and 30 degrees Celsius, protected from light and humidity. It is vital to keep the vial in its original packaging until the time of use to ensure product integrity. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
