Indications

Zyvoxam (Linezolid) is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections. It is effective in treating community-acquired pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as infections caused by bacteria resistant to other antibiotics, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Linezolid's action is based on inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, leading to the death of susceptible bacteria. Its use should be monitored in patients with complicated infections and those with risk factors for resistant infections.

Composition

Each 100 ml of Zyvoxam contains 200 mg of Linezolid. Excipients: sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, water for injection.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Linezolid or any of the excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or who have received an MAOI within the last two weeks.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizures, hematological disorders, or who are taking medications that may affect platelet function or coagulation. Regular monitoring of hematological function is recommended during treatment, especially in prolonged therapies.

Storage

Store at temperatures between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Protect from light and keep in its original packaging. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
