Indications

Zyrtec is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, including sneezing, runny nose, itching of the nose and eyes, as well as in the treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria. Cetirizine, its active ingredient, acts as an antihistamine, which helps reduce the body's allergic response.

In addition, Zyrtec is used for the relief of symptoms associated with allergies to dust mites, pollen, and other common allergens, being effective in improving the quality of life of patients suffering from these conditions. It is important that the use of this medication is supervised by a health professional, as the dosage and duration of treatment may vary according to the severity of symptoms and the patient's individual response.

Composition

Each 5 ml of solution contains 5 mg of cetirizine dihydrochloride. Excipients: purified water, hydrochloric acid, among others.

Contraindications

Zyrtec is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cetirizine or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency or in those with a history of severe adverse reactions to other antihistamines.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Zyrtec to patients with pre-existing renal insufficiency, as well as in those who perform activities requiring mental or motor attention, as cetirizine may cause drowsiness. Likewise, it is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption during treatment.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
