Indications

Zyrtec is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, including sneezing, nasal itching, rhinorrhea, and nasal congestion. It is also used in the treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria, relieving itching and the appearance of hives on the skin. Cetirizine, its active ingredient, acts as a selective H1 histamine receptor antagonist, helping to reduce the effects of histamine in the body, which contributes to improving patients' quality of life by reducing allergic symptoms.

Composition

Each Zyrtec orally dispersible tablet contains 10 mg of cetirizine dihydrochloride as an active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cetirizine, to other antihistamines of the same class, or to any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency without medical supervision.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizures, as well as in those with liver diseases. Alcohol intake is not recommended during treatment, as it may increase the sedative effects of the medication. Patients who need to perform activities that require alertness, such as driving, are advised to be careful when starting treatment.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place and out of the reach of children. Protect from light and moisture.
