Indications
Zyrtec is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, nasal and ocular itching, and nasal congestion. It is also used for the treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria, providing relief from itching and skin rashes. Cetirizine, its active ingredient, works by blocking the effects of histamine, a substance the body releases during allergic reactions, which helps reduce the allergic response and improve the quality of life for patients suffering from these conditions.
Composition
Each Zyrtec tablet contains 10 mg of cetirizine dihydrochloride, as well as excipients that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cetirizine, other antihistamines, or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered to patients with severe renal insufficiency or those in a state of central nervous system depression.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of epilepsy or seizures, as well as in those who consume alcohol or are being treated with other medications that depress the central nervous system. It is important to avoid activities requiring a high degree of alertness, such as driving vehicles or operating heavy machinery, until the patient's response to the treatment is known.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
