Indications
Zyprexa Zydis is indicated for the treatment of psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia and manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder. This medication acts on neurotransmitters in the brain, helping to balance chemical substances and improve psychiatric symptoms. It can also be used as part of a combination treatment for resistant depression in adults.
Composition
Each Zyprexa Zydis tablet contains 5 mg of olanzapine, as well as excipients that allow for its formulation and stability. Olanzapine is an atypical antipsychotic that acts on serotonergic and dopaminergic receptors in the central nervous system.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to olanzapine or any of the product's excipients. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of agranulocytosis episodes or a history of neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Zyprexa Zydis in patients with liver diseases, cardiovascular diseases, or those who are being treated with other medications that may affect the central nervous system.
