Indications
Zuricxel (Paclitaxel) is indicated for the treatment of various types of cancer, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and non-small cell lung cancer, as well as in combination with other chemotherapeutic agents. Its mechanism of action is based on inhibiting microtubule depolymerization, which interferes with cell division and causes programmed cell death in cancer cells. Paclitaxel administration must be performed under the supervision of a physician specialized in oncology, who will evaluate the indication and the most appropriate treatment regimen for each patient.
Composition
Each vial of Zuricxel contains: Paclitaxel 300 mg in 50 ml of injectable solution.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to paclitaxel or any of the formulation components. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe neutropenia, uncontrolled active infections, or in those who have recently received radiotherapy or chemotherapy treatments that affect bone marrow.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions, as well as in those with liver or heart problems. It is important to continuously monitor hematological parameters during treatment, as paclitaxel can cause leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, and anemia. The administration of this medication in pregnant or lactating women must be carefully evaluated by the treating physician.
Storage
Zuricxel should be stored at room temperature, protected from light and humidity. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
