Indications
Zumotrex (methotrexate) is used in the treatment of various malignant neoplasms, such as acute lymphoblastic leukemia and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Additionally, it is employed in the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and severe psoriasis. This medication works by inhibiting DNA synthesis, which prevents cell proliferation, making it effective in controlling cancerous cells and modulating the immune system in patients with autoimmune diseases. It is important that the use of Methotrexate is carried out under strict medical supervision, given its potential to cause significant adverse effects.
Composition
Each ampule of Zumotrex contains 50 mg of methotrexate, as well as excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
Zumotrex is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to methotrexate or any of its components. It is also prohibited in cases of severe renal failure, active liver diseases, gastrointestinal ulcers, and in pregnant or breastfeeding patients, due to its teratogenic potential and toxicity to the fetus.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of pulmonary diseases, active infections, or those receiving live virus vaccines. Regular monitoring of liver and hematological function is recommended during treatment. Patients should be informed about the possibility of adverse effects and the importance of seeking medical attention if unusual symptoms appear.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
