Indications
Zomig Rapimelt is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults. This medication works by activating serotonin receptors, which leads to the constriction of dilated blood vessels in the brain and the relief of symptoms associated with migraine. It is designed to provide rapid and effective relief from severe headaches and can be used in migraine episodes that do not respond to other treatments. It is important that the use of Zomig Rapimelt be supervised by a doctor, especially in patients with a history of cardiovascular or neurological diseases.
Composition
Each Zomig Rapimelt tablet contains 2.5 mg of Zomitriptilan as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that allow for the proper formulation and absorption of the medication.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Zomitriptilan or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, including myocardial infarction, stroke, or transient ischemic attack. It should not be administered in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in patients who experience symptoms of chronic migraine.
Precautions
Special care should be taken when using Zomig Rapimelt in patients with uncontrolled hypertension, severe liver or kidney disease, as well as in those taking other medications that may interact with Zomitriptilan. Medical evaluation is recommended before use in these populations.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
