Indications
Zodox is indicated for the treatment of various types of cancer, including: acute lymphoblastic leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphomas, breast cancer, and soft tissue sarcomas. Doxorubicin acts by interfering with DNA synthesis, which prevents cell proliferation. This medication is used in combined chemotherapy protocols to improve treatment efficacy and is administered under strict medical supervision, given its toxicity profile and side effects.
Composition
Each Zodox ampoule contains: Doxorubicin (as hydrochloride) 50 mg, excipients q.s. 25 ml.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to doxorubicin or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with congestive heart failure, a history of heart disease, nor to those receiving treatment with live attenuated vaccines. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with impaired liver function, as doxorubicin is primarily metabolized in the liver. Regular monitoring of cardiac function is recommended due to the risk of cardiotoxicity. Concomitant administration with other chemotherapeutic agents that may increase toxicity should be avoided.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
