Indications

Zient is indicated for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia, as an adjunct to diet and lifestyle modifications. This medication works by inhibiting the intestinal absorption of cholesterol, resulting in a decrease in LDL cholesterol levels and an increase in HDL cholesterol levels. It is used in adult patients who require additional cholesterol reduction, as well as in those who have not achieved their lipid goals with adequate diet and exercise. Zient can also be used in combination with other lipid-lowering medications to enhance their effect.

Composition

Each Zient tablet contains 10 mg of ezetimibe as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and efficacy.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ezetimibe or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with active liver disease or in those with severe hepatic insufficiency.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease, as well as in those who are receiving other medications that may affect liver function. Liver function tests are recommended before and during treatment. Additionally, care should be taken in patients with a history of allergic reactions to other lipid-lowering medications.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
