Indications

Zestril is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure, as well as for congestive heart failure. This medication is also used for the prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with a high risk of cardiovascular disease, and in the management of left ventricular dysfunction after a myocardial infarction. Lisinopril works by blocking the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), which results in the dilation of blood vessels and the reduction of blood pressure.

Composition

Each Zestril tablet contains 10 mg of lisinopril as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.

Contraindications

Zestril is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to lisinopril or any other component of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of angioedema associated with prior treatment with ACE inhibitors. It is also contraindicated in cases of bilateral renal artery stenosis or renal artery stenosis in a single functioning kidney.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when using Zestril in patients with a history of angioedema, renal insufficiency, collagen diseases, and in those who are being treated with diuretics, as they may experience an excessive decrease in blood pressure. Regular monitoring of kidney function and electrolytes is recommended.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
