Indications
Zestril is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. It is also used in patients with congestive heart failure and to improve survival after a myocardial infarction. Lisinopril works by blocking the action of a natural substance in the body that constricts blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and the heart to work better.
Composition
Each Zestril tablet contains 10 mg of Lisinopril as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients such as lactose, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, among others.
Contraindications
This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to lisinopril or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with a history of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor treatments. It is also contraindicated in cases of bilateral renal artery stenosis or renal artery stenosis in a single kidney.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of angioedema, kidney disease, or in those who are dehydrated. It is also recommended to monitor blood pressure and kidney function during treatment. Avoid concomitant use with potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements, as it may increase the risk of hyperkalemia.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
