Indications
Zestoretic is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. This drug combines two mechanisms of action: lisinopril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, and hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, which act synergistically to achieve effective blood pressure reduction. It can also be used for the prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with risk factors, as well as in patients with heart failure.
Composition
Each Zestoretic tablet contains: Lisinopril 20 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of severe adverse reactions to ACE inhibitors, angioedema, bilateral renal artery stenosis, hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, and during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy.
Precautions
Precautions should be taken in patients with renal impairment, hyponatremia, a history of angioedema, cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, or those receiving other antihypertensives or diuretics. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and electrolytes is important during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C, and out of the reach of children.
