Indications

Yasmin is indicated for contraception in women of childbearing age. It is also used for the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and for regulating the menstrual cycle. This oral contraceptive combines two hormones: drospirenone, a progestogen, and ethinylestradiol, an estrogen, which work together to prevent ovulation, alter cervical mucus, and modify the endometrium, thereby helping to prevent pregnancy. Additionally, its use may contribute to reducing menstruation-related symptoms, such as premenstrual syndrome and dysmenorrhea.

Composition

Each tablet contains 3 mg of drospirenone and 0.02 mg of ethinylestradiol.

Contraindications

Yasmin should not be used in women with a history of deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, thromboembolic disorders, or cardiovascular diseases. It is contraindicated in women with breast cancer or endometrial cancer, as well as those with severe liver diseases or undiagnosed vaginal bleeding.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in women with a history of migraines, hypertension, diabetes, or in those who smoke and are over 35 years old. A complete medical examination is recommended before starting treatment. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions and not interrupt treatment without prior consultation.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
