Indications
Yasmin 21 is indicated for hormonal contraception in women of childbearing age. In addition to its use as a birth control method, the product can be used to treat menstrual disorders such as premenstrual syndrome (PMS), dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain), and acne in women who wish to use an oral contraceptive. Its formulation helps regulate the menstrual cycle and reduce the severity of menstruation-associated symptoms.
Composition
Each Yasmin 21 tablet contains 3 mg of Drospirenone and 0.03 mg of Ethinylestradiol. Excipients include: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, among others.
Contraindications
Yasmin 21 is contraindicated in women with a history of venous or arterial thromboembolism, breast cancer or hormone-dependent organ cancers, severe liver diseases, uncontrolled hypertension, and in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of the formula. It should not be used in women who smoke and are over 35 years old, due to an increased risk of adverse effects.
Precautions
A medical examination is recommended before starting treatment and during its use. It is important to assess family and personal history of cardiovascular diseases. Women with migraines, diabetes, or impaired liver function should be closely monitored. It is also suggested to consider additional contraceptive methods in case of missed doses.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
