Indications
Xylam (hydroxyzine) is indicated for the treatment of various conditions that require the antihistaminic and anxiolytic action of the medication. It is used for the symptomatic relief of anxiety, as well as in the treatment of anxiety disorders, where it can provide a calming effect. In addition, it is used in the prevention and treatment of allergic reactions, such as urticaria and allergic rhinitis, alleviating symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and runny nose. It can also be used as a premedication before surgical procedures to reduce anxiety and provide sedation.
Composition
Each Xylam tablet contains 10 mg of hydroxyzine as the active ingredient. Additionally, it may contain excipients such as lactose, starch, and other inactive components that allow for the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Xylam is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to hydroxyzine or any of the excipients. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other antihistamines. Furthermore, it is contraindicated in patients with severe respiratory diseases and in those undergoing treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart disease, hypertension, liver or kidney disease. It is important to avoid combination with alcohol and other central nervous system depressants, as they may potentiate the sedative effects of hydroxyzine. Monitoring of elderly or debilitated patients is recommended due to an increased risk of adverse effects.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
