Indications
Xuzal (Levocetirizine) is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny nose, nasal and ocular itching, as well as for the relief of symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria. Levocetirizine works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance the body produces during an allergic reaction. This medication can help reduce itching, redness, and inflammation associated with these allergic conditions.
Composition
Each 1 ml of solution contains 0.5 mg of Levocetirizine dihydrochloride, in addition to excipients such as sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, and purified water.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levocetirizine, cetirizine, or any of the excipients. It should also be avoided in patients with severe renal insufficiency and in those with urinary retention or difficulty urinating.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with mild to moderate renal insufficiency, as well as in those with epilepsy or a history of seizures. Levocetirizine may cause drowsiness; therefore, care should be taken when driving or performing activities that require attention. Alcohol consumption is not recommended, as it may enhance the sedative effects of the medication.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep the product in its original packaging and out of the reach of children.
