Indications
Xuzal 5 mg is indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, as well as for the management of chronic idiopathic urticaria. This medication acts as a selective H1 histamine receptor antagonist, helping to reduce symptoms such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, nasal and ocular itching, as well as urticaria. It is especially useful in patients with allergies to pollen, dust mites, molds, and other common allergens.
Composition
Each Xuzal tablet contains 5 mg of levocetirizine dihydrochloride as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients such as lactose, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levocetirizine, cetirizine, or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment and in those with a history of urinary retention or severe liver function disorders.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of epilepsy or seizures, as well as in those with liver or kidney diseases. Additionally, care should be taken when driving vehicles or operating machinery, as the use of Xuzal may cause drowsiness in some people. It should not be combined with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants.
Storage
Store the product in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of the reach of children. The storage temperature should not exceed 30 °C.
