Indications
Xultophy is indicated for the treatment of adults with type 2 diabetes to improve glycemic control. This medication is used in conjunction with diet and exercise in patients who have not achieved adequate blood glucose control with metformin alone or metformin combined with other oral antidiabetics. It can also be used in patients who have been receiving insulin degludec and liraglutide as separate treatments and who require combined therapy to achieve optimal diabetes management.
Composition
Each ml of Xultophy contains: 100 units of Insulin Degludec and 3.6 mg of Liraglutide.
Contraindications
Xultophy is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to insulin degludec, liraglutide, or any of the excipients of the medication. It is also contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes and in those with diabetic ketoacidosis.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of pancreatitis, as the use of liraglutide has been associated with this type of condition. Additionally, renal function should be assessed, as insulin excretion may be affected. It is important to monitor blood glucose levels regularly to avoid episodes of hypoglycemia.
Storage
Store in refrigeration between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Once in use, it can be stored at room temperature (below 30 °C) and must be used within 21 days.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
