Indications
Xl-3 Xtra is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of colds and allergies. This medication combines an antihistamine (Chlorphenamine) to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as sneezing, nasal and eye itching; a decongestant (Phenylephrine) that helps reduce nasal congestion; an antitussive (Dextromethorphan) to suppress cough and an analgesic/antipyretic (Paracetamol) to relieve pain and fever. It is useful in managing symptoms associated with common colds and seasonal allergies.
Composition
Each capsule contains: 2 mg of Chlorphenamine, 5 mg of Phenylephrine, 10 mg of Dextromethorphan and 250 mg of Paracetamol.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with severe cardiovascular diseases, uncontrolled hypertension, narrow-angle glaucoma, and in patients taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) within two weeks prior to treatment.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in its use in patients with chronic respiratory diseases, liver or kidney diseases. It should not be used in combination with other paracetamol-containing medications to avoid overdose toxicity. Alcohol consumption should be avoided during treatment, as it may increase the risk of adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
