Indications
Xigduo XR is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is used in patients who have not achieved adequate blood glucose control with metformin alone or in combination with other antihyperglycemic medications. It can also be used in combination with insulin in patients requiring additional treatment.
The combination of dapagliflozin and metformin offers a dual approach to glucose control, helping to reduce glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels and improve metabolic control in patients, as well as contributing to weight loss and blood pressure reduction in some cases.
Composition
Each Xigduo XR tablet contains: 10 mg of dapagliflozin (as dapagliflozin propanediol monohydrate) and 1000 mg of metformin (as metformin hydrochloride).
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the formula, severe renal insufficiency, acute metabolic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and in those with a history of severe allergic reactions to other medications of the same class.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with moderate renal insufficiency, liver disease, or a history of recurrent urinary tract infections. Regular monitoring of renal function and blood glucose levels should be performed. Dehydration and conditions that may cause intravascular volume depletion also require special attention.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
