Indications

Xerenex (Paroxetine) is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorders, generalized anxiety disorders, panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorders. Paroxetine acts as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), which helps to increase serotonin levels in the brain, thereby improving mood and reducing anxiety in patients. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions regarding dosage and duration of treatment to obtain the best results and minimize side effects.

Composition

Each Xerenex tablet contains 20 mg of paroxetine as the active ingredient. Excipients are: lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, starch, magnesium stearate, and other inactive components.

Contraindications

Xerenex should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to paroxetine or any of the formula's components. It is contraindicated in patients receiving treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and in those with a history of mania or manic episodes, as well as in pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless otherwise indicated by a doctor.

Precautions

Caution is advised in patients with a history of seizures, liver or kidney disorders, as well as in those at high risk of suicide. It is important to monitor patients during the initiation of treatment and during dose changes, especially in young people and adolescents.
