Indications
Xerendip (somatropin) is indicated for the treatment of growth hormone deficiencies in children and adults. In children, it is used in cases of idiopathic short stature, Turner syndrome, and in those with chronic renal insufficiency. In adults, it is indicated for the treatment of growth hormone deficiency, which can result in reduced muscle mass, increased body fat, and decreased quality of life. Somatropin helps to improve growth and development in children and to restore body composition in adults.
Composition
Each ampule of Xerendip contains 4 Units/Ml of Somatropin, along with excipients that facilitate its use and administration.
Contraindications
Xerendip is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to somatropin or to any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with active tumors, untreated malignant diseases, and in those with medical conditions that may be aggravated by growth hormone treatment.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with respiratory diseases, diabetes mellitus, and in those who have received treatment with sex hormones. Regular monitoring of blood glucose levels and thyroid function is essential, as is evaluating any signs of tumor growth.
Storage
Store in refrigeration between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Keep in its original packaging and protected from light. Once reconstituted, the product must be used within a specific time frame, according to the manufacturer's instructions.
