Indications
Xeltetra-M is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections. It is effective in the treatment of respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as urinary tract infections. In addition, it is used in the treatment of conditions such as acne vulgaris, due to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Minocycline works by inhibiting protein synthesis in susceptible bacteria, which limits their growth and reproduction.
Composition
Each capsule of Xeltetra-M contains 50 mg of minocycline as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients necessary for the formulation and stability of the product.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to minocycline, tetracyclines, or any of the components of the formulation. Its use is not recommended in pregnant and breastfeeding women, due to possible adverse effects on the fetus or infant.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, as minocycline is metabolized in the liver and excreted by the kidneys. Likewise, it is recommended to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or tanning lamps, due to the possible risk of photosensitivity reactions on the skin. The doctor should be informed about any other medications the patient is taking, to avoid interactions.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
