Indications
Xeltetra-L is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to lymecycline. It is used for respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as urinary tract infections. Its use is recommended in cases of severe infections where a broad-spectrum antibiotic is required. Lymecycline acts by inhibiting protein synthesis in bacteria, which contributes to their elimination and infection control.
Composition
Each capsule contains 300 mg of lymecycline, in addition to the excipients necessary for the drug's formulation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to lymecycline or other antibiotics of the same class, as well as in those with severe liver disease. Its use is not recommended in children under 8 years of age due to the risk of tooth discoloration and alterations in bone development.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, as well as in those with kidney or liver diseases. It is recommended to evaluate liver and kidney function before starting treatment. Additionally, patients should be warned about the possible occurrence of adverse reactions, such as photosensitivity, and advised to avoid direct exposure to the sun or sources of ultraviolet radiation.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
