Indications

Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) is indicated for the prevention of venous thromboembolism in patients undergoing hip or knee replacement surgery. It is also used in the treatment of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, as well as in the prevention of thromboembolic events in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. Additionally, it is useful in preventing heart attacks in patients with coronary artery disease.

Composition

Each Xarelto tablet contains 20 mg of rivaroxaban as the active ingredient. Excipients include lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, talc, and magnesium stearate.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to rivaroxaban or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with severe hepatic impairment, inadequate coagulation index, or those with an increased risk of bleeding, such as those with active hemorrhagic lesions.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Xarelto to patients with moderate to severe renal impairment, as well as to those receiving other medications that may increase the risk of bleeding. Monitoring of renal and liver function is recommended during treatment.

Storage

Store in its original packaging, at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep out of reach of children.
