Indications

Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) is indicated for the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in patients undergoing hip or knee replacement surgery, as well as for the prevention of stroke and systemic embolic events in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. It is also used in the treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).

Composition

Each Xarelto tablet contains 2.5 mg of rivaroxaban as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, and other components.

Contraindications

Xarelto is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to rivaroxaban or any of the product's excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients with active pathological bleeding, severe liver disease, and in those requiring concomitant treatment with certain medications that are potent inhibitors of CYP3A4 and P-gp.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients at risk of bleeding, with a history of peptic ulcers, moderate or severe renal insufficiency, as well as in elderly patients. Regular patient monitoring is important to detect signs of bleeding or adverse reactions.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
