Indications

Xarelto (rivaroxaban) is indicated for the prevention of thromboembolic events in adult patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, as well as in patients who have undergone hip or knee replacement surgery. This medication is also used in the treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), as well as for the prevention of recurrences of these conditions. Its use must be evaluated and supervised by a physician, who will determine the duration of treatment and the appropriate dose according to the individual characteristics of each patient.

Composition

Each Xarelto tablet contains 2.5 mg of rivaroxaban as the active ingredient. Excipients include lactose, starch, among others, which facilitate the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Xarelto is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to rivaroxaban or any of the excipients in the product. It is also contraindicated in patients with active significant bleeding, hereditary or acquired bleeding disorders, and in those with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance < 15 ml/min).

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Xarelto to patients at risk of bleeding, such as those with a history of gastric or duodenal ulcers, uncontrolled hypertension, or in concomitant treatment with other anticoagulants. Renal function should be monitored periodically, and interactions with other medications that may increase the risk of bleeding should be considered.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
