Indications
Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) is indicated for the prevention of strokes and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. It is also used in the prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) in patients who have undergone hip or knee replacement surgery. Additionally, it is prescribed for the prevention of thromboembolic events in patients with coronary artery disease or peripheral artery disease.
Composition
Each Xarelto tablet contains 15 mg of Rivaroxaban as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate the formulation and stability of the medication.
Contraindications
Xarelto is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Rivaroxaban or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with significant active bleeding, bleeding disorders, or conditions that significantly increase the risk of bleeding.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, as well as in those receiving other anticoagulants or with a history of bleeding episodes. It is essential to monitor renal and hepatic function before and during treatment. It is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption and certain medications that may interact with Rivaroxaban.
Storage
Store in its original packaging, in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
