Indications
Xarelto is indicated for the prevention of thromboembolic events in patients with atrial fibrillation, as well as in the prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) in adults. It is also used for the prevention of thromboembolic episodes in patients undergoing hip or knee replacement surgery. Rivaroxaban's action is based on the inhibition of factor Xa, which interferes with the coagulation cascade and prevents clot formation.
Composition
Each Xarelto tablet contains 10 mg of Rivaroxaban as the active ingredient. Excipients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Rivaroxaban or any of the product's excipients, in those with clinically significant active bleeding, as well as in patients with lesions or pathological conditions that predispose to bleeding. It should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless the doctor considers it strictly necessary.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of bleeding, bleeding disorders, severe renal or hepatic impairment. It is important to monitor renal and hepatic function during treatment. Treatment should not be interrupted without consulting a doctor, as this may increase the risk of thromboembolism.
Storage
Store this medication in its original packaging, at room temperature (between 15 and 30°C), protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
