Indications

Xaraban (Rivaroxaban) is indicated for the prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) in adults. It is also used for the prevention of thromboembolic events in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation, as well as for the prevention of deep vein thrombosis in patients undergoing hip or knee replacement surgery. This medication works by inhibiting blood coagulation through the inhibition of factor Xa, thus contributing to the reduction of the risk of clot formation.

Composition

Each Xaraban tablet contains 20 mg of Rivaroxaban as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

The use of Xaraban is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Rivaroxaban or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with clinically significant active bleeding, such as intracranial or gastrointestinal bleeding, as well as in those with severe liver diseases affecting coagulation. Likewise, its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless the benefits outweigh the risks.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Xaraban to patients at risk of bleeding, such as those with bleeding disorders, uncontrolled hypertension, or those on concomitant treatment with other anticoagulants. In addition, regular monitoring of renal function is recommended in patients with renal insufficiency, as drug elimination may be affected.

Storage

Store in its original packaging, at room temperature, in a dry and cool place. Keep out of reach of children.
