Indications
Weicop (Modafinil) is indicated for the treatment of sleep disorders such as narcolepsy, as well as for improving wakefulness in patients with obstructive sleep apnea. It is also used for the treatment of excessive daytime sleepiness in specific conditions. Modafinil acts as a wakefulness-promoting agent, helping to improve attention and focus in daily activities. Its mechanism of action is not fully understood, but it is believed to affect neurotransmitters that regulate the sleep-wake cycle, such as dopamine.
Composition
Each Weicop tablet contains 200 mg of modafinil as an active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as lactose, starch, and other inactive components that allow for product formulation.
Contraindications
Weicop is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to modafinil or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use should also be avoided in patients with a history of severe heart disorders, as well as in those with a history of substance abuse.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Weicop to patients with a history of psychiatric disorders, as it may exacerbate symptoms in these conditions. Additionally, it is recommended to monitor patients with cardiovascular diseases, as modafinil may affect blood pressure and heart rate. It is important to avoid driving vehicles or operating heavy machinery until the response to treatment is known.
Storage
Store the product in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light and out of reach of children. The storage temperature should not exceed 30°C.
