Indications
Vytorin is indicated as an adjunct to diet for the reduction of elevated levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol (low-density lipoproteins), and triglycerides in adult patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It is also indicated for the reduction of total and LDL cholesterol levels in patients with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. Additionally, it can be used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in high-risk patients, including those with a history of coronary artery disease or diabetes.
Composition
Each tablet contains Ezetimibe 10 mg and Simvastatin 20 mg as active ingredients, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation.
Contraindications
Vytorin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, in those with active liver disease or persistent elevations of transaminases. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Vytorin to patients with a history of liver disease, as well as in those who consume excessive alcohol. It is important to periodically monitor liver function tests in patients starting treatment with this medication. Furthermore, the possibility of interactions with other medications the patient is taking should be evaluated.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
