Indications

Vylkor (Ondansetron) is indicated for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy in cancer patients. It is also used in the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting. This medication acts as a serotonin receptor antagonist (5-HT3), blocking the action of this substance in the body, which helps reduce the sensation of nausea and the vomiting reflex.

Composition

Each Vylkor tablet contains 8 mg of Ondansetron, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.

Contraindications

Vylkor is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ondansetron or any of the formula's components. Its use is not recommended in patients with intestinal obstruction or in those with a history of QT interval prolongation.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with severe liver problems, as these may affect the elimination of the medication. Likewise, its use should be considered in patients with a history of cardiac arrhythmias. Monitoring is recommended for patients who are being treated with other medications that may prolong the QT interval.

Storage

Store Vylkor at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place away from direct light. Keep the medication out of reach of children.
