Indications
Vydura is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine in adults. It is a CGRP (calcitonin gene-related peptide) receptor antagonist, which helps relieve migraine symptoms, including headache, photophobia, and phonophobia. This medication works by blocking the action of CGRP, which is elevated during migraine episodes, thereby contributing to the reduction of pain and attack intensity.
Composition
Each Vydura tablet contains 75 mg of Rimegepant as the active ingredient. Excipients include: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Vydura is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Rimegepant or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in subjects with a history of myocardial infarction, unstable angina, or severe cardiovascular disease. Its use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended unless the benefit outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Vydura to patients with a history of heart disease, uncontrolled hypertension, or those taking other medications that may affect cardiovascular function. Hepatic function should be evaluated before initiating treatment, and patients who develop symptoms of liver dysfunction during treatment should be monitored.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
