Indications
Vontrol is indicated for the treatment of nausea and vomiting of various etiologies, including those associated with surgical procedures, chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, as well as in cases of motion sickness. It can also be useful in the management of vestibular disorders and dizziness. Its antiemetic effect is due to its action on central receptors involved in the regulation of vomiting, which helps to provide relief in patients experiencing these conditions.
Composition
Each Vontrol ampule contains: Diphenidol 40 mg in 2 ml of sterile solution.
Contraindications
Vontrol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to diphenidol or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary tract obstruction, or conditions that may be aggravated by urinary retention. Furthermore, its use is not recommended in patients with a history of seizures or in those with severe hepatic insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Vontrol to patients with chronic respiratory diseases, as it may cause respiratory depression. Monitoring is also recommended in elderly or debilitated patients, who may be more susceptible to the sedative effects of the medication. It is important to avoid alcohol intake and other central nervous system depressants during treatment.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep in a dry place and away from direct light. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
