Indications
Virlix Infantil is indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis in children. This includes symptoms such as sneezing, rhinorrhea (nasal discharge), nasal and ocular itching, as well as nasal congestion. It is also indicated in the treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria, providing relief from itching and skin rash. Cetirizine, its active ingredient, works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance the body releases during an allergic reaction.
Composition
Each ml of Virlix Infantil solution contains 1 mg of cetirizine as cetirizine dihydrochloride. Excipients: citric acid, potassium sorbate, purified water, among others.
Contraindications
Virlix Infantil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cetirizine, to other antihistamines, or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of epilepsy or seizures, as well as in those with severe respiratory problems. If the patient experiences adverse effects, discontinuation of treatment should be considered. In addition, it is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption during treatment, as it may enhance the sedative effects of cetirizine.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
