Indications
Vilzermet is indicated as a treatment for adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, with the aim of improving glycemic control. This medication is used in combination with diet and exercise, and can be administered as monotherapy or in combination with other oral antidiabetics, when glucose control is not adequate with metformin alone or with other antidiabetic drugs. The combination of vildagliptin and metformin helps to reduce blood glucose levels by improving insulin secretion and decreasing hepatic glucose production.
Composition
Each tablet contains:
Vildagliptin: 50 mg
Metformin: 850 mg
Excipients: Lactose, starch, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, moderate to severe renal insufficiency, diabetic ketoacidosis, and in those with active liver disease. It should not be administered during pregnancy or lactation, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of pancreatitis, as well as in those with heart or kidney failure. It is important to monitor kidney function before and during treatment with Vilzermet. In addition, it is recommended to regularly monitor blood glucose levels to avoid episodes of hypoglycemia.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
