Indications
Vilona is indicated for the treatment of viral infections, specifically in the management of chronic hepatitis C in combination with interferon alpha. It can also be used in the treatment of other viral infections where ribavirin has proven to be effective. Ribavirin works by inhibiting viral replication, which helps reduce the viral load in treated patients. Its use is recommended under strict medical supervision to determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment based on the patient's response and the presence of adverse effects.
Composition
Each 5 ml of solution contains 100 mg of ribavirin as an active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate its administration and stability.
Contraindications
The use of Vilona is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ribavirin or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as in patients with severe kidney disease or hepatic decompensation. Its use in combination with certain medications may be contraindicated and must be evaluated by a physician.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with a history of heart disease, chronic lung disease, or those receiving concomitant treatment with other medications that may affect liver or kidney function. Constant monitoring during treatment is essential to detect possible adverse effects and adjust the dose if necessary.
Storage
Vilona should be stored at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
