Indications

Vick Pyrena is a medicine indicated for the temporary relief of symptoms associated with colds and allergies. It is designed to reduce fever and relieve pain, as well as to decongest the respiratory tract. It is useful in the treatment of symptoms such as:

• Fever
• Headache
• Muscle pain
• Nasal congestion
• Allergic rhinitis

This medicine combines paracetamol, which acts as an analgesic and antipyretic, and phenylephrine, which acts as a decongestant. Its use must be in accordance with the doctor's instructions and the guidelines established in the package leaflet.

Composition

Each sachet of Vick Pyrena contains:

• Paracetamol: 500 mg
• Phenylephrine: 10 mg

Contraindications

Vick Pyrena is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with severe liver disease or uncontrolled hypertension. Its use is not recommended in patients who are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in those who have used these medicines in the previous two weeks.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering this medicine to patients with heart disease, diabetes, glaucoma, or thyroid problems. It is important not to exceed the recommended dose and to avoid the concomitant use of other medicines containing paracetamol to prevent liver toxicity.
